Walgreens Boots Alliance strives to provide comprehensive support for LGBTQ+ team members so they can thrive both at work and at home. It’s a priority all year round, but Pride Month is the perfect time to recognize the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to WBA’s success and to remind them of the benefits available to them as members of the team.
To kick off WBA’s celebrations, the Pride Alliance business resource group (BRG) welcomed leadership, BRG members and team members to join in a virtual panel where all could celebrate the diversity that make the collective team stronger.
Alethia Jackson, senior vice president of ESG and chief DEI officer, moderated the panel comprised of Roz Brewer, chief executive officer; Rina Shah, senior vice president, pharmacy of the future and transformation; Chris Waiters, BRG chair; and Chris Dysinger, senior director, health and retirement benefits at Walgreens. Dysinger spoke about Walgreens long history of providing comprehensive health and workplace benefits, which has earned the company a score of 100 percent and the Corporate Equality Index 2022 Human Rights Commission award for demonstrating its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.
Additionally, WBA launched a new LGBTQ+ Benefits Guide this month, with comprehensive information on the inclusive benefits available to LGBTQ+ team members, partners and families. These benefits include transgender-inclusive healthcare services and support, family forming benefits, financial and mental health and wellbeing resources, and more.
Watch highlights from the panel event to learn more about why building an inclusive workplace is a priority for WBA, how the business is supporting communities disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS for National HIV Testing Day and how to be a supportive ally.
