Colin Sirard may be just a few short years into his pharmacy career, but the stories of his dedication to patients are already numerous. This clear commitment to the health and well-being of community members in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, led his team to nominate him for Champion of Champions, Walgreens’ companywide awards program, where he earned the top honor of Pinnacle Award winner.
From joining patients on doctors’ visits to help them understand their treatment to performing potentially life-saving first aid in store, Sirard consistently demonstrates the human touch a community pharmacist can provide for those they serve.
“Honestly, I think the best part about what I do is really just the significant impact that we have on our patients,” says Sirard. “It really is amazing to feel that connection with the patients and know that what you do truly matters.”
“That is what it’s all about,” says Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth of Sirard’s engagement with his community. “And we have pharmacists and team members all over the country who represent that same thing to their community.”
