Walgreens Convenient Hours and Locations Help Make Last-Minute Shopping Easy

With more than 8,000 stores, Walgreens stores are open until midnight or even 24-hours;

Purchasing impromptu gifts is just a quick trip around the corner

DEERFIELD, Ill., December 17, 2013 - For anyone looking to purchase holiday gifts, Walgreens (NYSE: WAG) (NASDAQ: WAG) selection of seasonal products ranges from beauty items to toys to premium candy – even the extras like gift wrap and batteries. Most stores will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, including 1,600 24-hour locations, to help shoppers pick up any last-minute items.

  • Most stores will be open until midnight through Christmas Eve. Pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 24 hour stores are always open.
  • On Christmas Day, most non-24-hour stores will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Select pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 24-hour stores and pharmacies are always open.

“As many shoppers are checking the final presents off of their lists, they oftentimes need to pick up one more item before celebrating. In fact, our research indicates that approximately 97 percent of people see themselves making an impromptu shopping trip this season,” said Moe Alkemade, group vice president of consumables, sundries and seasonal for Walgreens. “With our more than 8,000 locations nationwide, Walgreens offers a variety of last-minute gifts to complete the holiday shopping experience.”

Customers may need a little help figuring out what to buy for folks on their lists, so Walgreens created a helpful shopping guide - “Happy and Healthy, Your Guide to Easy Holiday Solutions from Walgreens” – and a gift finder tool accessible online or through the mobile app, making shopping even easier. Beauty and Personal Care Offerings

  • Each day through Dec. 24, Walgreens “12 Days of Beauty” features an item such as perfume, make-up, nail polish or a gift set is available at a great price.
  • Fragrances make for sweet smelling presents, and Walgreens offers a variety of designer and celebrity scents. Gift sets range from $5 to $30.
