AnnMarie Soliman knew she wanted a career where she could help people. So, it only makes sense that she ended up the pharmacy manager at a Walgreens in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

“It's not my personality to sit behind a desk,” says Soliman, a 12-year Walgreens team member. “I love being around people. I love caring for people.”

The 24-hour store stands across the street from a hospital, right next to a bus stop, and caters to a low-income community that needs someone like Soliman: Patient, caring, and empathetic. Soliman takes pride in her pharmacy being both an HIV Center of Excellence as well as a newly established Walgreens Clinical Trials site.

“You gotta have heart, you gotta have compassion,” Soliman says. “You have to be empathetic and open to help anyone that walks through our door no matter what. And we do this every day. It's great.”

Soliman’s story is part of our video series that celebrates Walgreens pharmacy team members for American Pharmacists Month. Watch how Soliman is bringing care to those who need it most.
