WBA receives a B on 2020 CDP Climate Change Disclosure
WBA received a B on our 2020 CDP Climate Change Disclosure, which covers management of carbon emissions during fiscal 2019, the 12 months ended Aug. 31, 2019. This grade reflects the continued management of WBA’s carbon footprint and is consistent with our company’s previous score for fiscal 2018.
At WBA, we believe a healthy planet is essential for healthy communities and that the company must do its part to lessen its impact on the environment. We address the urgent threat of climate change through investments in energy efficiency, tracking and monitoring of energy use, management of energy use across real estate and fleets and use of energy from renewable sources. We report our emissions yearly in our Corporate Social Responsibility report.
CDP submissions in the climate category are rated on a scale of A to D- for completeness, assessment of environmental issues and risks and the extent to which a company has implemented actions, policies and strategies to address these.
CDP is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.
