Angela Mackey is on a mission to tear down the barriers for people with disabilities and celebrate their role in the workplace. Heading up the human relations department at the Walgreens distribution center in Pendergrass, Georgia, Angela has hired and trained many employees with disabilities.

Born with cerebral palsy, Angela knows firsthand the way people with disabilities can be judged and have doors closed on them. An inspiring and joyful leader, Angela is a tireless advocate and a strong voice for people of all abilities.

“I can’t wait until the day comes when I can go into a restaurant or business and just be Angie. I’m not Angie with cerebral palsy, I’m just Angie,” she says. “I’m just another person that’s working and taking care of her family.”

This short documentary is part of our series highlighting the achievements and experiences of Walgreens employees in the disability community. Walgreens is grateful for our team members with disabilities, and proud to celebrate July Disability Pride Month with them.
