In Season 1, Episode 1 of BRT TV, a new series by Business Roundtable featuring interviews with America’s leading CEOs on the top issues facing the country, Roz Brewer and CEOs from Walmart, Johnson & Johnson and Honeywell share the story of the business community’s effort to combat COVID-19, end the public health crisis and safely rebuild a prosperous and more equitable economy.
Brewer, CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance, is joined by three other CEOs whose businesses are also on the frontlines of responding to the crisis: Doug McMillon, President and Chief Executive Officer, Walmart and Chairman, Business Roundtable; Alex Gorsky, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Johnson & Johnson; and Darius Adamczyk, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Honeywell.
During the interview, Brewer discusses problems the pandemic exposed in the U.S., such as health inequities in Black and Latinx communities, which drove her to personally take action to help communities that needed it most. She also thanks WBA’s frontline team members for helping the business chart its path forward.
“This is a time when our people feel so proud of the work that they were able to do. Everyone wants to not only do their job, but they want to make sure that it has purpose,” says Brewer during the interview. “Many times after our team members deliver the vaccine, they’re watching that patient or that customer break down in tears or actually say to them, ‘I think you just saved my life.’”
