Mary Langowski serves as executive vice president and president of Walgreens Health at Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc.
In this role, she oversees the company’s portfolio of healthcare businesses, health and biopharma services, drug procurement and supply chain, reimbursement and contracting, and commercialization. She also leads operations for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy business, which focuses on the treatment of complex or rare conditions. A member of the WBA Executive Committee, is responsible for enterprise strategy, corporate development and M&A.
A nationally recognized healthcare leader, Langowski has decades of experience in leadership roles across health plans, pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacies, retail healthcare services and provider organizations, as well as senior roles in federal and state government.
Before joining WBA, Langowski served as chief executive officer of Solera Health, a leading technology company that she successfully transformed to create the first of its kind fully integrated, value-based digital-first delivery system serving payers and employers to drive cost savings and care in lower cost settings.
Langowski previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer at CVS Health, where she helped shape the organization’s transformation as a healthcare company, spearheading the foundational work for its healthcare services strategy, and contributing to key aspects of CVS’s acquisition of Aetna.
She has held senior positions in state and federal government, leveraging her extensive policy expertise to develop new healthcare payment models and champion several legislative and regulatory reforms that have enabled better healthcare innovation and value-based care.
As a partner in one of the largest law firms in the world, Langowski chaired the U.S. Health team and Global Food Sector, advising multinational, Fortune 50 and emerging growth companies on M&A, IPOs and global government strategies. Her work included leading multiple high-profile healthcare services and pharmaceutical transactions.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University, as well as a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Iowa College of Law.
