Walgreens Earns Top Marks in 2015 Corporate Equality Index
Walgreens Earns 100 percent Score for the NinthConsecutive Year on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 13th Annual Scorecard on LGBT Workplace Equality
DEERFIELD, Ill., November 24, 2014 - Walgreens (NYSE: WAG) (Nasdaq: WAG) received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This marks the ninth year Walgreens has earned a perfect score from the CEI index.

The 2015 CEI rated 734 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community. Walgreens efforts satisfied all of the CEI’s criteria resulting in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality. Fortune 500 companies that participated in the survey had an average rating of 86. Walgreens joins the ranks of 366 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.
